Over 45 Mio years of evolution the horse developped to a high specialized animal in anatomy, physiology and behavior. No other animal had influenced the economic and cultural history of men in such extend. Hunting prey since the icetimes, domesticated 4000 B.C. and used for thousands of years as unique animal all over the world has acquainted a new role today as partner in sport, as companion animal and even as cotherapeut. The well known behavioral demands in use and keeping are still often not fulfilled.

Vom Wildpferd zum ReitpferdDas Pferd entwickelte sich in 45 Millionen Jahren in seiner Anatomie, Physiologie und Verhalten zu einem hochspezialisierten Lebe wesen, welches wie kein anderes Tier die wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Geschichte des Menschen beeinflusst hat. Seit der Eiszeit als Beutetier genutzt, hat es in unserer Zeit in Sport, Freizeit und als Cotherapeut neue Aufgaben erhalten. Nutzung und Haltung des Pferdes tragen den heute gut bekannten Verhaltensansprüchen jedoch immer noch ungenügend Rechnung.

Le cheval s´est développé du point de vue de son anatomie, de sa physiologie et de son comportement au cours de 45 millions d´années en un être vivant hautement spécialisé qui a incluencé comme aucunne autre espèce l´histoire économique et culturelle de l´homme. Depuis la période glaciaire, il a été une proie et à notre époque il a reçu de nouvelles tâches dans le sport, les loisirs et en tant que cothérapeute. L´utilisation et la détention du cheval ne tiennent pas encore suffisamment compte des exigences bien connues aujourd´hui de son comportement.

In 45 milioni di anni il cavallo si è trasformato nella sua anatomia, nella sua fisiologia e nel suo comportamento in una creatura altamente specializzata, ed ha influenzato come nessun altro animale la storia economica e culturale dell´uomo. Dall´epoca glaciale viene usato come preda, nella nostra epoca ha assunto nuovi ruoli nell´ambito dello sport, del tempo libero e in qualità di coterapeuta. Le esigenze comportamentali del cavallo, malgrado siano ben conosciute, non vengono applicate in maniera sufficiente al suo utilizzo ed alla sua tenuta.
